March 8 marks the very significant day as the 'International Women's Day', a global celebration of the contribution of women towards the betterment of the community while creating a gender equal world. For the year of 2024, International Women's Day is coming under the theme of " Invest in women: Accelerate progress" and the idea is enabling women's economic stability can go a long way towards achieving equal efforts.

Women empowerment is not just a matter of justice and equality; but also a basic necessity of building a prosperous and sustainable world where women can fully contribute to the society realizing their true potential without any restrictions. The studies have shown that the societies which empower women have a higher and stable social economy. It’s because when women are empowered, they invest in their families and communities leading to a positive change.

In related to the theme of 2024, economic independence is an effective aspect of women empowerment in means of the global development. Empowering women economically means making a favorable environment for them to possess as entrepreneurs, workers, and consumers, etc. removing barriers such as wage gaps, lack of access to finance resources, discriminatory practices in the workplace, burdens, and harassments.

So, the time has come to invest women as the agents of change and progress for the benefit of whole world. Let us stand together to create a peaceful world where all the women and girls can live free from discrimination and violence while understanding their rights.

Moreover, it’s time to prioritize women economic empowerment which the world is in need now for making a sustainable future for all.
